Russia may have own underwater production technology in 2022

MOSCOW, Jul 14 (PRIME) -- Russia may have its own underwater oil and gas development technology by 2021–2022, Deputy Energy Minister Kirill Molodtsov told PRIME in an interview published on Friday.

“A selection mechanism is envisaged for research and development solutions for national shelf equipment models; 2.7 billion rubles were allocated on eight research and development projects from 2017 through 2019 … This way, we can present a test unit with our own technologies of underwater development by 2021–2022,” Molodtsov said.

He also said that Russian energy companies are gradually shifting to domestic equipment producing capacities.
